    Praise for Gardai

The Gards have their problems, but they don't get enough praise for the good stuff...

I was very impressed last week when strolling around a park Drumcondra to witness a Garda on a bicycle come up to a group of Poles who were happily enjoying the good weather with a few cans. I thought the Garda was going to spoil their fun, but no... he started chatting to them in Polish.

I'm fairly sure this Gard was a paddy building 'community support'. Very impressive.

Next we'll have them dropping into the offy to buy the cans for the underage kids round the corner

Em, technically he really should have gave them a bit of friendly advice about drinking in public really? At the least.

Dont forget ''they took err jebbs.....'

(Apologies, I bought the entire collection of South Park recently and just got around to the 'goobacks' episode about immigrants from the future - I nearly wet myself it was that funny......)

Maybe he didn't make the connection between them getting pissed in public and their propensity to start fighting in the street later on:
