    10 Month Old Denied Justice

20 year old Larry Connors from Ennis County Clare received a 3 year sentence for grossly abusing a 10 month old child. He broke two forearms, dislocated his right elbow, bit him on the cheek, burnt him with an iron, causes him to suffer a brain bleed and he has other multiple bruising evident when he was admitted to hospital. The DPP is to appeal the sentence and the law that applies to this case carries a max sentence of 7 years.

This guy should have got the full 7 and hopefully he will suffer horribly for his actions whilst in prison. This child was denied proper justice and I can't beleive the judge was so lenient in this case, a crazy decision in my view.

    Very lenient alright.

One messed up individual that he is.

Maybe a long stint in a psychiatric hospital is what's needed rather than prison?

Maybe should have been charged with a more serious offence, like attempted murder.

I hope the child lives a long and fulfilling life and gets all the support he deserves.

When it comes to crimes against children I'm and eye for an eye type.

the baby suffered two broken forearms; a dislocated right elbow; a significant brain bleed; a bite mark to his right cheek; a burn mark from an iron to his calf and multiple bruising across his body
Yet the scumbag of a judge gives this untermensch 3 years with half of that sentence commuted straight away so what this scumbag would more than likely serve 8-12 mths and be out again.

According to the linked article it is a 3 year not month sentence he was given. That is relatively lenient not not as obscenely so as the OP implied.

Why does the link say he got 3 months when he got 3 years?

Also, to quote the article,: "Connors received credit in court for his guilty plea and having no previous convictions". Why should pleading guilty gain him credit? It's not like the poor baby would have to go through the trauma of having to take the stand and give evidence.

As for previous convictions, should the fact he hasn't previously flung a baby around an apartment like a rag doll before really mean he should get a lighter sentence? Does this mean if I get caught breaking the speed limit, because I haven't done it/been caught before and if I plead guilty, I will get away with only getting one point? No it won't, so why should it matter a jot when it comes to the battery of a baby?

Oops, apologies for my error it's fixed now, I was thinking about the 10 month old when I wrote it and wrote months instead of years. And I think that 3 years is obscenely low for this crime.

    Disgusting.
Judge should be fired for gross negligence for facilitating the release of this possible socio/psychopath into the community without appropriate punitive measures.
I can only hope he gets anally raped on a daily basis, or better still shanked nice and early.

In some countries, it would have been okay for him to do all this and then kill the boy, as long as it was in his mother's womb at the time, only a few short months earlier.

    Makes one think.
