Nail on the head.While having good parents reduces the chance of a child becoming a delinquent it doesn't eliminate it.Two deceased Irish gangsters come from very respectable backgrounds.While parents are a huge influence on a child's life other factors like what peers they become associated with and what they experience in their life outside the home have a huge bearing Imo.

Right on again and I'll buy all of that too. But on top of all that do not forget that the shenanigans of the middle class with all their education and fine breeding and class distinction has done little more than throw up the greatest scams and frauds in our whole history and so much so that the guys in the lower socio-economic group are prone to say : "Hey, what I'm doing is peanuts, go fix the arch criminals who have destroyed the entire Irish economy". It gives the impaired ones, if not forgiveness then at least a certain amount of licence to graze the system as part of a leveling process.

Exactly the same is true of the life styles of the celebs which feeds directly into the loose living so widespread now and all the baggage (and there is an awful lot of that) that goes with the lifestyle. The prevailing attitude seems to be "if it's OK for them why not for me ? "

So, what I'm saying is that I agree that some A/Holes are born but others adopt and learn new skills along the way.
But A/Holes have their place in society.......without them the rest of us would not look as good as we do !
My bank manager gave me double time today because outside his door (as the next customer) sat the biggest, meanest, sourest, aggressive, god-forsaken A/Hole in South Leinster so it's an ill wind. Christ what a tale I could relate about him as if anybody is interested. Mind you.....he was once a pillar of this society before the collapse. I guess we are all in a different place now. Like John Lennon said : "If this is Tuesday then it must be Belgium".
