Yeah well spare us the constant whinging about what conditions other people are currently receiving

People had choices - on here people want to crucify them for their good fortune

It also doesnt absolve the private sector worker who chose not to enter the public service

Are you absolving the public sector workers who take the p!ss?

Remember, we are borrowing the money to pay more than a third of PS salaries from the Troika and our children will still be paying that money back in 30 years time - as well as paying for unfunded PS pensions.

Is it too much to ask that they go the extra mile in return?
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest." Mark Twain

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” Napoléon Bonaparte

The bank debt was guaranteed by the heads of the public sector, just so you know. The PS should have said no guarantee and the regulator should have done his job.

Lazy civil servants won't use modern technology in Immigration Bureau

Yet another glaringly misleading headline from our fat-arsed friend which should more correctly read:

Lazy, duty-dodging Gardaí won't use modern technology in Immigration Bureau - passing the buck instead to already overburdened civilian employees.

    1) how much tax does the state generate agains how much it spends, EXCLUDING money for debt repayment and bak recap! I think you will find he answer to your problem there, perhaps you should before you go making statements to the contrary!
    2) private sector practice was regulated by public
Sector policy, we have a financial regulator you know!
    3) are you implying that public sector employees did not partake in the insanity of the last few years? Was it only private sector borrowed above their means, borrowed for second properties etc etc?

Do a bit of research on the fist point though, it's pretty basic!
    Progressive and fair taxation = 2012 Merc e250 elegance purchase price/value €47,910 Road Tax:- €156 2005 vw passat 1.9L diesel price/value €8000, Road Tax :- €582
