Rateyoursolicitor.com makes p.ie look like the very essence of propriety. The key fault is that the comments can be just as easily be posted by someone for example involved in a family law case who will use the opportunity to settle a score with the opposing party's solicitor and not a client of the solicitor at all. I have looked at the site re solicitors in my own area and whereas they are a lot a comments about people I could not certainly stand up there was very little about 2 solicitors in my area who were actually struck off for wrongdoing.

For example the site gives an overall positive rating to the Solicitor below, but he was recently struck off for misconduct!

I reckon the site is a cranks charter for settling scores, mostly involving family law disputes, where one person could post under multiple identities about the same person.

In most Civil actions one party wins and one party loses. In many cases the loser is sore, bitter, and out of pocket.
In some instances the loser is hell bent on doing down the other party and blames their solicitor even when the solicitor and barrister does everything possible to advance the cause of their clients.
I was commenting on another post that said it gives consumers information to make choices. It only gives them information if that information is true. If not, it's misleading them.

I actually agree with you; I just underestimated others' speed on the draw, so it ended up as a bit of orphan post.

This guy won't have to be worried about being sued if he is found to have been behind the Site

I reckon this is a test case on behalf of solicitors countrywide, although i've no evidence to prove it.
    I eagerly await the outcome.

It doesn't really. It's a very poor site with mostly idiots venting their spleen or solicitors pretending to be anon and giving themselves 3 star ratings - much like any of those vile rate my ...... sites.

I am surprised this RMS site has not been put out of business before, although some barrister did make them apologise. You just cannot say what you like about anybody. Mr. Tansey is no slouch, and has won many landmark decisions for his clients.

Big shock indeed that solicitors wouldn't like rateyoursolicitor. Two solicitors I know are not mentioned at all and a third that in dealings with him I found to be an arch cu*t thoroughly deserves his Hall of Shame status, so works for me.

I agree with Tomas Mór and Gijoe's comments on RMS site. I know many of the lawyers mentioned and know many of the comments and rants to be outrageous lies.

I don't thinks any of these Rate My ------- should be anonymous.

Damien Tansey has a high reputation as an energetic and thorough solicitor. I hope his action succeeds.
