It seems to this observer that its well nigh impossible for a discerning and honest person to reach the highest office in any of the main western countries, including say Ireland - Cowen I suspect was honest, but far from discerning -, France, Germany, the UK and the USA. Speaking for myself anyway, I think the race for the highest office in all those countries is a puppet show with the real deal making and power struggle occuring somewhere else, far away from the prying eyes of the general public.
But thats not to say that the Powers That Be do not have an agenda surrounding elections like this one. First of all I think they like colourful argumentative debates, such as the last Presidential campaign in the US - especially the Democratic nomination race - and this one in Ireland. Basically they just want to distract people and draw people in to watch their puppet show. Its like if you are putting on a Punch and Judy Show on the beach you want everybody sitting down, clapping and booing and watching it closely, rather than wandering off around the show and seeing the puppet masters at work. Unfortunately I think both the US and we now are going down the tubes and these presidential elections have only proved to be distractions. The only exception I think is Dana who has tried to draw attention to how we are being taken over by the EU, but she is hardly let get a word in edge ways.
But there are other aspects to elections like this. Since it is the focus of the media for quite a while it can be useful to bed into the public consciousness some concepts that the elite want pushed. Thats why that US Democratic primary was all about Obama versus Hilary Clinton, because they wanted to push the concepts of feminism and racism/minority rights (why they would want to push that you can read here if you like: A leak of the real plan of the Globalist Elite? The Toronto Protocol ). In this election they want to push the similar concept of 'inclusiveness' (i.e. the end of an 'exclusive' sense of Irishness, so that we could not have any real racial or ethnic identity which in turn makes it easier for people to accept rule from the outside the country), and the highlighting of psychological and psychiatric issues, via talk of suicide etc, because they want to eventually get to the point, like in the former USSR, where dissidents will be looked on as having a psychiatric condition.
Ok I know most don't believe that but they're getting there, give em a chance! The EU really does eventually get to the point on these issues where the USSR left off.
But the other main issue they wanted out of this election was just to turn it into a farce and humiliate Irish people's pride in their country by portraying it as a circus with hopeless corrupt candidates etc. Thats what Pat Kenny was doing with the last TV debate, he was deliberately turning it into a version of the Jerry Springer show and it seems only Gay Mitchell realised this at the end. Also they probably had lined up a host of outside info and characters to add to the humiliation, such as people hit by IRA violence in the case of McGuinness and maybe the PTB have been courting those elements of Dana's family that made allegations. The reason for doing this is just to get to the same place, kill off Irish people's pride in their country and hence their strength or will to resist outside forces. (For an account of how this is done you should hear these lectures by Yuri Bezmenov here: KGB Psycological Warfare Subversion & Control of Western Society : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive , Yuri Bezmenov - Deception Was My Job (1 of 9) - YouTube and Tomas Schuman (Yuri Bezmenov) L.A. 1983 pt. IIa 1/7 - YouTube .) For what its worth I think McGuinness (who always cooperates with the PTB, see here for example: Is Martin McGuinnes a British Agent? The new revelations considered. - Indymedia Ireland ), maybe Davis (who is pushing the psychological issue a lot), Gallagher (I think they deliberately built him up to break him down, again drowning us all in sleave and alegations, but I think the PTB want Higgins to be the actual President), Norris (who was used to try and break down opposition to ending the age of consent laws for sexual offences, the PTB want that changed because they themselves are very much into child abuse in many countries and simply want to make what they do legal, same as drug smuggling), and certainly Higgins (who, in great contrast to Dana, seems to have got all allegations against him squashed pretty quickly, and who is very big on 'inclusiveness' and knows exactly why he is pushing it) are deliberately cooperating with the PTB and Mitchell and Dana are basically honest, certainly so in case of the latter anyway.
The problem of naivety in politics
Ok so thats rubbish, paranoid lunatic stuff etc etc., says you. But why do you say that exactly? You see I think a big mistake people make about politics in modern times is that they always start from a naive viewpoint. Politicians have a nice well organised place in the political make up of a nation. They are there to represent the people and are divided into left right blah blah blah. The fact is that throughout history we, and particularly the continent of Europe, have been plagued by power hungry megalomaniacs, who called themselves politicians, who wanted power over us at any cost. These people never wanted anything for anybody other than themselves, the whole concept of doing x or y for the benefit of the people or their nation, in any shape or form, is a totally laughable hypothesis, its all about power, their power over us, and, since time immemorial these guys can make very good liars so its a bit stupid expecting them to say anything that would unmask their real intentions. And in Ireland particularly the British used to pour money around and everything was OK with the vast majority of Irish politicians over the centuries. Its actually incredible how easy they found it to get Irish politicians to betray their own country for money, the truth is that some Irish people are hopelessly greedy and will do anything for money.
Now consider that, for example, repeatedly over the last few years Ireland has threatened to hold up the EU with referenda campaigns etc, possibly putting a spanner in plans that must involve spending billions of euro building up this emerging empire. You don't think then that the EU will not have droves of not only Irish politicians, but also media figures and businessmen in their pocket, to guard against Ireland being a thorn in their side? I would say you should look upon the wikileaks revelations, say as regards Gilmore, and multiply that for all the other intelligence agencies outside the US (like those from the EU, Germany, and obviously the UK) and you will realise that they probably corrupt nearly everybody that counts, at least all those that they don't just dismiss as drunks or clueless etc.
So what would the EU want with their agents? They simply would like to dismantle and destroy Ireland using these agents, thats about it. Why not? Thats how you create empires usually, like the EU one, you destroy the independence of the countries you want to take over.
Hence if you readjust your sights for a minute, take a walk on the dark side, imagine if something like that was going on, would you detect it? Hopefully you can see that by looking at the world, and Irish politics particularly, through naive glasses all the time you can miss things that you can see clearer if you take this somewhat pessimistic perspective. Look upon the career of Brian Lenihan, just as a simple example. Could you connect the dots of his reign as Finance Minister better by picturing him as one of these agents than as something else? And why then is he so glorified, he who was so much of a disaster? Just last week the Sunday Indo were running a TV ad that basically had him higher than Pearse, Connolly and Collins all wrapped up together! How could that possibly be for such a total disaster as a minister, unless there is something else going on, he was after all an extremely successful and brillant politician, if you look upon his goal as the destruction of Ireland.
Hopefully I am wrong about all that, but I don't think so!
