Just a thought, but a verified account system could be very cool so that public figures could talk in here and people would know it was definitely them. Nothing to stop them sock puppeting a bit too but could add a bit of gravitas to the site if a TD or journo could log in and respond to a thread officially.

That's rather condescending and definitely not even mildly amusing!

Politicians are a dreadful collection of self serving con artists. Some of the electorate put these creeps up on a pedestal and spend their waking hours defending and apologising for their total ineptitude.

I expect that anybody who is paid from the public fund should do the job they are paid to do. The potential for higher office, from the current Shameful Seven is not at all inspiring. I get a little fed up being told of the great service that politicians, charity chiefs and some of the teaching fraternity provide. Payments made from public money are over inflated and extremely poor value for money!

It's no wonder people are dour when this nonsense is crammed down their necks!
