Frontline #aras11 - Micheal D Higgins, Fergus Finlay, Kathleen O'Meara & Mary Davis

RTE's Frontline tonight will be discussing the forthcoming Presidential Campaign.

Politics.ie understands all three Labour candidates for the party's nomination (the selection is this Sunday) will be on the show - That's Micheal D. Higgins, Fergus Finlay and Kathleen O'Meara. Mary Davis will also be on the panel.

According to the show's producer, all the the likely hopefuls were invited.

So tonight we’ve invited the presidential hopefuls to make their pitch directly to you, the public. Not all have said yes, though that’s not going to stop us talking about them. We’ll be asking who is a deserving candidate and what should the next presidency mean in modern Ireland?

I think the OP (and the supporting link) answers your question.

I naturally hope the campaign will focus on the important issues rather than personal attacks on each candidate.

    No I'm only kidding.

Let the "you said in 1934" and "your 4th cousin did this" begin.

I presume then that only the four people named will be on the show, which is not only a poor turnout in general, but also a hopelessly lopsided panel.

The Labour Party will be picking their candidate next Sunday, so I can see why they'd be on the panel now. Pat Kenny has to get his misquotes, insults and presumptions in so as to undermine the selection process as much as he can, lest some progressive neo-Robinson has a chance of election!

I notice, btw, that the forum poll centres only on Fine Gael's nominee, the week before Labour selects a candidate. Seems a bit odd. I'm sure it has nothing to do with an employee of the FG party (or the Oireachtas on behalf of the party) being the main admin.
