You should read what the stickies said in 1970 - that the Provos were created and armed by FF.

It is likely that the information on the arms was passed by a tout who took stickie side. Don't see contradiction. Indeed it might have suited others to let him do so as they didn't want the arms going to the Provos.

I have read what was said. Your account is too reductionist.

Bollocks again from the stickie supporter.....halfwit do you still believe the OIRA/Workers Party aren`t linked?

Are you gonna continue to tell us that the stickies don`t run drug and drinking dens in belfast?

That the stickies aren`t shooting anyone, that they are not involved in exhortion and robberies?

That they didn`t shoot that lad in west belfast 6mths ago?

This is a message for anyone tempted to take what Brasco has to say seriously:

Anyone who regards The Workers' Party as right-wing reactionaries is clearly living in a planet of their own creation, the result of a completely irrational hatred of the anti-sectarian socialist politics espoused by The Workers' Party.

If that isn't enough to convince people that Brasco cannot be trusted, the fact is that the shooting he refers to was claimed by one of the anti-agreement dissident groups.

This individual is nothing but a fantasist whose hatred of The Workers' Party is so great that he/she cannot stop themselves from saying ridiculous and easily falsifyable things like the above in their frenzy to smear The Workers' Party.

certainly seems irrational to be calling the Workers Party "right wing"...

Not really, a fascist mentality can exist alongside a left wing political ideology and there was plenty of the former in the sticks.

As someone who actually lives in West Belfast unlike yourself, I am in a better position to offer an opinion on the stickies.

I`ve met those beaten and threatened by this group, have you? As to the shooting, I have no idea what you are referring too, maybe you can enlighten us, or do you only answer questions which don`t detract from the fantasy stickie nirvana in which you exist?

Maybe you can answer the following simple questions?

    1. Are you telling us that the OIRA the armed wing of the workers party doesn`t exist?

    2. Are you saying the OIRA doesn`t control 4 or 5 drinking dens in West Belfast, where drugs are openly peddled?

    3. Are you saying that the sticks don`t exhort and rob?

    4. Are you now saying that the stickies aren`t shooting youngsters in Belfast?

    5. Have you ever been to belfast or maybe the Lagan drinking den!!!!!!

Everyone with any sense, from the PSNI, SDLP to the Catholic church (who still provide mediators for the sticks when they come into conflict with the extremists of the CIRA/RIRA) knows that the stickies or workers party still has an armed wing, a group up to its neck in criminality and drug dealing.

But then I am a fantasist, a dreamer, someone without the ability to post the truth, unlike yourself.

the OIRA cant even admit to its own existence -that was covered in the Pat Kenny interview. if an OIRA guy was caught engaging in criminal activity, he would never admit to OIRA membership and serve his time as a common criminal.

unlike the PIRA, OIRA guys would never seek "political prisoner" status.

in short, these guys went unbelievably underground

They choose when caught 23 hour lock up for their own safety and weren`t even safe in the ODC wings....

but then most were not even convicted or did time....check the Workers party members caught moving rifles and guns and the lenient sentences they received....suspended sentences!!!

That was the late 80`s and early 90`s and there were even workers party members charged after the Democratic Left split.....but then as the revisionist stickie lovers here would tell you the split was solely about politics and not the existence of the armed wing the OIRA...

    From the fantasist...

i dont know where you are getting that idea from - the DL split was all about the OIRA - it was proposed as an amendment to the WP constitution - to break all OIRA ties. in 1992.

they didnt get the vote and De Rossa & others resigned and went on to form DL.
