Tapes: Nixon More Nixony Than Previously Thought

"There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white… Or a rape."

Nixon: Abortion necessary in case of interracial child - War Room - Salon.com

The New York Times' Charlie Savage reports on one recorded conversation the day that the Supreme Court's ruling in Roe v. Wade was handed down. Nixon didn't make a public statement, but privately, he worried that the greater legality of abortion would lead to "permissiveness," saying that abortion "breaks the family."

I wonder what his half black half white presidential successor thinks of this?

I thought we didn’t have Dick Nixon to kick around anymore?

To be fair, there are more than a few folks out there who would like to retroactively abort Obama.

Nixon would have had Obama aborted

What do people make of the bizarre revelation that Richard Nixon considered a mixed race baby as grounds for abortion (while opposed to abortion in general)

Ridiculous.
He was obviously pro life but understood in certain situations that an abortion option should be given.
He certainly was not implying forced abortion on mixed race couples!!
