There is alot of merit in this argument.

Ireland in the 30s-70s was indeed a "sick society" and "rotten to the core".

But think it through.

Why were we like that ?

People of my age can remember that the real and only orchestrator of a cultural value system in those decades was the catholic church. The parish priest held political sway in a manner that no elected TD ever did or ever will. You blame the ordinary people - but believe me they were a terrorised people who seldom dared to hold opinions other than those imposed on them by local autocratic religious - who themselves were bullied into orthodoxy by a grasping imperious hierarchy.

This is the truth of it .

Can you prove the truth of that statement? In the years 1918 to 1921 the belt of the crozier did not stop the IRA. Tell the truth. The Catholic clergy had influence only when their policies coincided with the material interests of the Eire electorate.

If the catholic church has stopped contending that the majority of evidence was unsafe, and the CB have issued an apology today in a desperate attempt to claw at any shred of respectability I'd say you are out of step with your own cults' statements on the matter.

But then you are psychologically unstable. Enjoy your religious pictures in your old age because thats all that people like you will be left with, I'm afraid.

Can you prove that all the allegations are justified?
