And why not - given the misdeeds that organizations and goverment's around the world have committed to fund their various causes, I'd say $500 dinners on the back of a few subbies in NY would be on the more legitimate side of things. Not to mention people in a position of privelege are known to want to support those less fortunate, its very American - not unusual for them to donate 3-4% of their salary to charitable causes - not sure if the $500 dinner would count as a deductibleon the 1040

You have to be naive not to appreciate the nuances surrounding Irish republicanism, socialism and funding from what you perceive to be "bourgeois, 'establishment' politics" in Irish-America.

I believe that you believe that, Section 31 and revisionist History teachers have a lot to answer for.

What was your favourite story from Irish History? Mine was the one about the Scottish bloke who carried out an armed robbery in the G.P.O. in 1916.

    Don't be silly.

It was an Aston Villa one.

Describing Bobby Sands as a "mate who enjoyed a bit of craic and slagging," Seanna joked that he was "the only person inside to support Aston Villa--God help him."
