I remember seeing the movie along time ago, not a bad flick but not sure how accurate it was.

    RIP.

For all the scandal, she was not that street-smart, and seems to have frittered away her chance to better herself.

Her friend, Mandy Rice-Davis, had no inhibitions of making herself a success de scandal, and died quite well-off. She once described her life as "a slow descent into respectability".

Wikipedia have the goods on that:

When James Burge, the defence counsel, pointed out that Lord Astor denied an affair or having even met her, she replied, "Well (giggle) he would, wouldn’t he?"(often misquoted "Well he would say that, wouldn't he?").[11] By 1979, this phrase had entered the third edition of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, and is occasionally abbreviated as MRDA ("Mandy Rice-Davies applies").
