    Liam De Roiste

    Does any one have any info on this chap? I'm trying to research him but I can only find little info.

    All I know is;
    -Served in the first 3 Dails in Cork for Sinn fein(pro-treaty).
    -Fought in 1916 in the cork Batalion with Micheal Cronin(the guy who replaced O'Duffy as head of the blueshirts).
    -Was head of Corks Irish Christian Front.

    What was the Irish Christian Front?

    Edit: JFGI. Turns out it was a group established to support and recruit volunteers for Franco during the Spanish Civil War. Probably close to FG.

    They weren't but they did campaign for the 1937 general election on a ticket which included recognising Franco as Caudillo of Spain (FF, on the other hand, remained neutral).
    Also, certain factions which had been close to FG previously (Blueshirts ==> Greenshirts) enrolled to fight for Franco. Therefore, it's not outside the realms of crediblity to surmise, as I have done, that the ICF may have been close to FG. N'est pas?

    Dont see how recognising that a dictator of a country is the head of that state. People tollerated dictatorhips more back, sure most people still do today.

    0.12% of the blueshirts, after the broke up, went to Spain.

    The founder of the ICF was a member of FF at somepoint.

    Ugh? Franco wouldn't solidify his control of power till 1939. They were giving him their support, as much as blueshirt members did.
