Can you give even one example of a functioning democracy in the Arab world?

All evidence would point to Arabs not being to govern themselves on a democratic basis. Of course they end up being governed, but concepts like equal rights for all are not a concern for them. Those societies do seem to operate on rule by a dictator (withe the backing of one tribe) or rule by religious fundamentalists.

In Eastern Europe there was a substantial section of the population who were educated and genuinely believed in liberal democracy whereas in Countries like Egypt the majority of the population are bog ignorant illiterates who seemed to have no problem with Islamo Fascist parties running Egypt, hence the reason why the military implemented a military coup in July to get rid of these medival bigots in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Countries like the Czechosolvakia also had a vibrant liberal democracy between 1918-38 before the Nazi vermin and then the communist filth destroyed that country. In Poland, Solidarity activists like Lech Walesa would also have been influenced by Liberal western Parliamentary democracy that ultimately convinced the majority of Polish people that Liberal democracy was the best system possible whereas in Egypt, Syria, Tunisia etc Islamo fascist have absolutely no time for Liberal democracy.

An educated middle class is also necessary to bring democracy.

Arab people have never been let govern themselves, being stopped by vested interests eg the West and the Soviets!

Jordan is a fairly stable pseudo democracy.

They armed them and trained their torturers. Even when they were used against local Communists as in Syria, Egypt and Iraq.

    Nonsense.

The vested interests would ensure that the people wouldn't get to decide anything even if those vested interests didn't have western/Soviet backers.

But wouldn't the local rulers have been ruling even if they weren't backed by the Soviets?

It isn't as if they ruled only due to Soviet backing.
