everybody seems to have fallen for this - a caper designed to get the economy off the front pages even for a few days with no qualms about using the "deserters" to do so - and will be glad to see the back of shatter!!!!!

They fought the Nazi's. I know you wish they hadn't, and had found a more morally opaque foe to fight against instead. But they did fight the Nazi's. It's a fact.
Any act they undertook, subsequent to desertion including fighting the nazis, is not relevant to their act of desertion
