It is not something exclusive to the elite.

One could argue that the Land Annuities were the "pig-headed insistence that the state can and should shoulder all liabilities" of their day.

That had been in place since the 1920s, and, arguably, large areas of social policy had been farmed out to the Catholic Church since long before independence.

Never underestimate the ability of well-bred, serious and sensible Irishmen and women to choose the utterly wrong option simply because it is presented as the well-bred, serious and sensible option at the time.

Though its wrong to assume 'the elite' is smarter than average people. The are a group composed of those with the thickest necks, not the biggest brains.

Well, they're smarter in the sense that they get to run our lives and maintain their positions.

Another limk from a pathetic right wing blog. Immigration into Britain was extremly helpful to the British economy ANd to the immigrants. Its not their fault if neoliberalism requires a certain tranch to live in poverty so that they may be exploited for mcjobs.
Never listen when they tell you that Man and the animals have a common interest, that the prosperity of the one is the prosperity of the others. It is all lies.
