    The Last Public Execution in France

    Versailles, France: 1939 Execution of the German criminal Eugène Weidmann (born 1908) which was the last one performed in public. Several hundred additional spectators were apparently gathered behind a second cordon, not visible in this photograph. Roger-Viollet / The Image Works. LINK

    @Andrew49,
    A very interesting, thought-provoking photo. You get a "Like" for the choice, but I hope you understand that I cannot put a "Like" under the photo itself.

    A monster lives in our galaxy....

    The Yellow + is a location called Sagittarius A*. These images were observed between 1992 and 2002. They show stars orbiting Sagittarius A*, sometimes at phenomenal speeds (up to 1,000 kilometers per second.)

    Zooming in, you can see the incredible velocity of the orbiting stars as they get closer to Sagittarius A*.

    The evidence can only point to one natural phenomenon we know about, a black hole. This black hole is what's known as a "supermassive block hole", packing about 4 million times the mass of the sun into an incredibly dense region of space. Astronomers have found ample evidence that a similar monster (often times much larger than Sagittarius A*) reside near the center of almost every galaxy.

    Sometime I put a 'like' under photos that seems very disturbed. That isn't to say that I actually 'liked' the photo by I liked the poster for posting such a photo(s) which is(are) eye openers.
