The manner in which it was dealt with, or rather not dealt with, is the atrocity, "brains". As was the slave trade. As was the almost entire destruction of the indigenous peoples of North & South America, Australia, Tasmania, etc etc. As was the subjugation of millions & massacre of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, in Africa & Asia. As was the intentional destruction of indigenous industries & consequent impoverishment of the peoples of India, Ireland, etc etc. "Brains".

Additionally, a very strong case may & indeed has been made that the famines in both India & Ireland occurred as a consequence of British policies in both those countries. I'm not saying it was or was not intentional, there's a whole thread on that elsewhere which you can peruse at your leisure.

Exporting food, denying access to food or food aid while a famine is ongoing, in the name of a self-serving ideology which helped to bring the famine about in the first place, most certainly is an atrocity. Maybe you & your ilk should undergo the same experience at least once in your life so you may understand more clearly?
