    Arthur Griffiths

Can anyone direct me to some personal history of Arthur Griffiths please. Locally, just south of Caernarfon, there seems so little known of his family roots. only that the family were originally from a small village of Drws y Coed in the Nantlle valley by Llyn y Dywarchen. I would much appreciate
    any information on his family.

    Thank you

Ifor there is a biography published about Griffith in irish (Art Ó Gríofa) the writer was Seán Ó Luing. Iw would be out of print, and difficult to come by but if I trip across it I`ll translate anything relevent in it and send it on to you. It is unlikely that I`ll come across it before the summer. Don`t be afraid to send me a message by pm or through this thread to remind me.

    Regards

I wonder if the Louth TD Arthur Morgan has a Welsh background. He couldn't have a more Welsh name & he couldn't look more Welsh either.

There's a good few Morgans around. Seems to be mostly a northern name. See here.

    A bit like Hughes.

It's a very, very common Welsh surname - but it seems that it's used in Ireland & that it's origin there is Irish rather than Welsh.
