    That's terrible.
    It was the Auxies burned Cork, not the Tans.

    Other than that I liked it.

    Mine. I don't think the author had genuine revisionism in mind when he wrote it (after all, all history is revisionism) but rather the Kevin Myers school of non-thought.

    The "Tans" has become a generic term for all the brit occupation forces.

    Indeed, I remember one of my teachers referring to soccer as "that aul Black n' Tan game"

    It seems "Black and Tans" became synonmous with 'the English', even though 20% of them were Irish, and however many more were Scots, Welsh, etc
