Would that be an effective way to get an "anti-war" message across? Would it be worth the upset and negative press? Maybe.

However, look at the issue of 3rd world famine campaiging. Campaigners have been using images of starving children for years to highlight the reality of the situation, which also worked intially. However, now there's a case to be made for Irish society's immunity to these images and their decreased effectiveness. (They are no longer shocking).
So there are diminishing returns involved? But that's a slightly different argument, one that would be more likely to appeal to those trying to use shocking images than those who oppose their use, I would have thought.

They're not in a contest, are they? Just because we reject the claims of racists doesn't mean we have to respect the sensitivities of women who have had miscarriages, or at least not to the point of sacrificing our freedom to try to change views or behaviour.

Well, that was directed at Pidge, but duly noted.
