How come Mary Harney still has her job?

Although there are plenty of bad ministers, she has been in health since 2004 and I really can't think of anything constructive that she has done.

At least other bad ministers have been shuffled around a bit.

Why is Mary Harney so hard to move?

Look how far out to the left I've managed to push my user details. What do I win? I'm in Dublin btw.

I suspect this may have something to do with it...

Sorry, I have nothing constructive to contribute to this thread.

But seriously folks, FF would be mad to appoint one of their own people to health. When ever people slag off the health service, they always name check Harney, never a mention of FF. Keeping her in health is simple self preservation on the part of FF.

    Its all about optics

    Terry Prone has advised Clowen

When the Cabinet photo is being taken, stand next to Harney et voila, Clowen looks slim and trim

    optics children, and oh.... communication

no-one in FF will touch the poisoned chalice.

on newstalk last night hookie was interviewing the ceo of beacon hospital who said co-location was a "done deal". wonder who profits massively from this.

PD still is to be winded up later this month or the next.

When that happens, Mary Harney no longer as a PD representative but as an Independent TD.

I don't think Clown can keep her as long as a Health Minister as her days are numbered when she becomes an Independent TD.

I heard Mary Harney's husband works for IBEC as It's a possibility that he lobbied for Private Hospitals.
