"Young people and drugs in the community"

Ógra Shinn Féin Ceatharlach / Cill Choinnigh will be holding a public meeting in the Clubhouse Hotel, Kilkenny City, on Saturday 17 June. The purpose of the meeting, entitled, "Young People, and Drugs in the Community", will be to highlight the increasing drug problem in our communities, North and South, but especially in the context of Carlow and Kilkenny.
Ógra Shinn Féin Ceatharlach / Cill Choinnigh, have taken the initiative to hold this meeting, as the sole voice, for young republicans in the area. We believe it is important that this issue is highlighted by elected representatives, in the local area, and at national level, on behalf of young people in the two counties.

T.D. Crowe Addresses Ógra Drugs Awareness Meeting

Last Saturday 17 June, Cumann Ógra Shinn Féin Proinsias Ó Riain, Ceatharlach / Cill Choinnigh, held a public meeting in Kilkenny city. The aim of the meeting entitled, "Young People and Drugs in the Community" was to raise public awareness regarding the increasing drug problem in our communities, especially in the context of young people, whom Ógra Shinn Féin represent.

Despite the sunny weather outside, the event was well attended by members of the public from both Kilkenny and Carlow. The meeting, chaired by Ógra Shinn Féin local organiser Peadar de Bluit, was addressed by, Kathleen Funchion - Sinn Féin candidate for Carlow / Kilkenny in the forthcoming General Election, Sinn Féin T.D. from Dublin South West, Seán Crowe, and community activist Peter Smith also from Dublin.

While Kathleen outlined Sinn Féin's policy regarding drugs to those present, Seán and Peter shared their experiences from past and present regarding community activism against organised drug-dealing. A question-and-answer session followed where the audience's interest in the subject of the day was clear to be seen. Ógra Shinn Féin Ceatharlach / Cill Choinnigh now intend to follow up on the success of the meeting with a series of community based events in order to heighten awareness in the area on this very important issue.

Is this follow up post to the 'conference' taking the piss?

Is there a computer in SF HQ which automatically issues a press release after every party event based on the following template:

"Last ..., Ógra Shinn Féin held a public meeting in .... The aim of the meeting entitled, "..." was to raise public awareness regarding the increasing ... problem in our communities.

The event was well attended by members of the public from .... The meeting, chaired by Ógra Shinn Féin local organiser ..., was addressed by....

A question-and-answer session followed where the audience's interest in the subject of the day was clear to be seen. Ógra Shinn Féin now intend to follow up on the success of the meeting with a series of community based events in order to heighten awareness in the area on this very important issue."

Prsumably the computer program fills in the blanks with the specifics of each event.

And to think this is described as a 'discussion' forum

    Hi all.......

Just wondering, is there a Lifestyle Sports near the venue? and if so, do they sell Baseball Bats?.....if not - Maybe OGRA Sinn Fein /IRA could give them a buzz and get some in.........
