HSE in talks with swine flu vaccine provider

The Minister for Health, Mary Harney, has confirmed that negotiations are currently underway between the HSE and a possible provider of a swine flu vaccination.
Minister Harney says despite the high cost of advanced supply agreements, if and when a strain is identified, it’s an expense that will be necessary.

I think the government should be trying to find the money for cervical cancer (HPV) and not swine flu.

Agreed, but you see Harney has her head stuck in the trough with the other pigs so it's convenient for her to have these talks. The kids at risk of cervical cancer are not any way near the trough so it would be inconveninet for Harney to talk with them. It's simply really.

It is a shame. I believe there is a greater risk from cervical cancer then swine flu.

Who needs to be vaccinated? The swine flu has killed very very people this go around. But the last time the vaccine was used (1976 in the US) it killed and paralysed very many more. I still believe cervical cancer to be the greater risk.

This swine flu lark is getting more hilarious everyday
This video by Hans Rosling puts a bit sense back into whats going on.

A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

It is clear from this and other threads that UlsterLad has a brain, we had better give him 2 jabs just to make sure.
