RSF "Stop shaking hands at mass or you'll get swine flu"

Following on from the Weston stalker and the worries about a reindeer strike at Christmas just when you think RSF in Limerick couldn't make any more loonier statements than those ones here comes another gem. Sorry I had to post whole of press release............... enjoy and remember next time you are at mass/church service be careful out there!

MAYDAY ALERT FOR SWINE FLU –
LAY ASIDE HAND SHAKING SAYS O’NEILL

The spread of swine flu could be curtailed if people ceased
the custom of handshaking at religious ceremonies, a local
community activist in Limerick said today.

Sean O’Neill from Prospect said that handshaking is one
of the main causes of the spread of infection and any
move to curtail it must be welcomed.

The fear of the spread of swine flu is real in Limerick,
he said adding that many elderly people are afraid to
attend Mass because of the uncertain situation.

The widespread practice of shaking hands at the end
of the Mass must be looked at and if found to be a
possible cause of the dispersion of infection then
it should cease, said the RSF City Council candidate.

Many elderly people in the community have their
fears fed by the media as the spread of the swine
    flu appears to be inevitable.

For many people attending at religious ceremonies
is one of the few social contacts they have and
if it is found to be a possible source of infection
    then it must be curtailed.

Therefore the shaking of hands at the end of the Mass
must be laid aside for the foreseeable future as the
health authorities struggle to cope with this world wide
    outbreak of flu.

At least we wont have to worry about the the hands of RSF supporters who spent a lot of time keeping their hands to themselves and a tight grip on their members.

I see they've stopped short on calling for an outright ban of the holy communion. That might be on the agenda next though.

    Seems like sound advice.
Though I can only imagine the germs passed through the use of euro notes.
