Where Does Youth Defence get 60,000 Euros for a 64 Billboard Campaign in Cork?

Statements have been made by Eoghan De Faoite regarding a huge Youth Defence Campaign which will focus on Munster
and Cork regarding their opposition to the UCC decision to allow Stem-Cell research on Campus in a vote (November 2008).

Youth Defence to run anti-stem cell adverts - The Irish Times - Tue, Feb 10, 2009

I find it hard to believe that someone who achieved their degree would threaten to hand it back in Protest at the Vote
to allow stem-cell research.Familiar as we all are with YD's use of image, the campaign will probably be both eye-catching and
wonderfully informative. I want to know who funds this Youth Defence Campaign ?

60,000 euros is a lot of money to run a 64 Billboard Campaign during a recession.

Also If a YD person would answer the First Question above, I do have another one regarding Campus Organisation and how precisely a
young pro-choice group was disallowed permissions to set up at UCC in the very recent past : The reason given was that there is already one
group concerned in the area of reproductive Rights in UCC. (!)

Nope, there isn't. There is a highly organised, apparently wealthy media-savvie bunch of Youth Defenders preventing
    adequate discussion on the issues.

Thx for wonderful comment but I reckon that whoever backs YD really does seem to like militancy and have an overt interest in the bodily functions of young women.

Yep- I reckon it was Jeebus who bought the 64 billboard sites and opened their accounts to what appears to be huge donations to allow them run single-issue campaigns.

I think they're financed by ultra-catholic whackjobs in the US (the same pro-lifers who used to fund SF/IRA).

I'm sure they get a few bob from fascist nutcases on this side of the pond as well, of the Kathy Sinnott ilk

You can't hand back a degree because it is not a physical item.

The scroll you got is merely a receipt to say that a degree was conferred upon you.

Is there no depths of stupidity to which you won't go ?

You really are an idiot. Youth Defence is unashamedly an orthodox Catholic organisation, which propogates policy in accordance with Catholic doctrine. Most of their funding comes from Irish Catholics... of which you are probably one, but who doesn't confine yourself to orthodox thinking... you could easily qualify in the whack-job category all the same Barry..

I think it is probably the US christian right tied in with as you point out Kathy Sinnott types.

But I think your talking rameis by linking in the IRA. Where are you going with that?
