    Bilingual cigarette packs

I bought a packet of smokes today and for the first time ever the health warnings were bilingual on them!!!

This is a great development- albeit marginal. It took a woman from Ráth Cairn to bring the subject to court to get the matter sorted out.

In the last few weeks the Bank of Ireland ATM's in shops now have a Gaeilge option also.

These two developments are very good. Most of the business sector does not make enough use of of the Irish language and these two developments are very encouraging for the future of the language commercially where it has always been weakest/usually invisible.

How many people in Ireland who speak Irish can not speak English and are old enough to smoke?

They've been that way for a couple of months now. Pointless exercise, as everyone will just ignore the Irish the same as they ignore the English. Except the impotence ones, obviously. Which haven't been translated yet...

Yeah - What a great victory - for minority opinion and complete irrelevance and pointlessness... Get a life !

I don't think so. At least not where I have been buying them.
