If people are to hound her out of office can they not do it no honest grounds. Clinical misdiagnosas in portlaoise was not her 'direct responsibility'.
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.
I for one don't want to see her resign.
I want to see her sacked for her incompetence, the thin veneer of PD ideology has worn away long ago to reveal the lack of substance below.

Online petitions are the biggest waste of space.
It takes no effort on the part of the complainant yet they feel they have 'done something.'
I think Harney has failed in her portfolio and is too wedded to the co-location idea above and beyond more important issues facing the Health Service. She hasn't tackled the over staffing in administration grades that was the hangover from the local health boards, she has caved in on serious reform and passed the buck to the HSE. She should resign because she has been all bluster but little real substance. Sad to say after all her years in politics, her 'greatest' achievement is smokeless coal!

I really think if Harney was not a woman she would not be in that office.
Previous ministers have been hauled out for much less than what she has managed over.
She has been in charge of a massively increasing budget of now €16bn without any massive benefits which should have followed. How can the HSE and Department of Health both exist???
How is she the only 1 qualified to do it, considering she has no experience in working in health- oh wait her husband probably advises her on that.
Harney is the buffer between Fianna Fail and accountability. The HSE is the buffer between Harney and accountability. Now HIQA (or however it is spelt) is the buffer between the HSE and accountability.
Enough people have died. It's time that the buffers were knocked down and Bloody Mary is booted from office.
Mary harney being a woman has nothing to do with her getting Health dept. Full stop. Her being somewhat cocky in thinking she could free market her way through all problems is her motivation.
She is however not breaking any moulds in Health. She promised great things but little is being delivered. For someone who believes so much in deregulation and liberalisation she has done little to manage the behemoth of the HSE. Ironic that the last PD minister is the one who managed the largest state money sink in history.

She is not the only one who can do this job. That crap doesn't wash. And, smitchy2, do not let tonys or clanretard hear you suggest anything about her husband advising her, especially not for monetary gain. You will be called a liar and a reprehensible scumbag. I was. Coming from them, though, I treat it as a compliment.
