Abortion on Demand for the North

Whether the locals want it or not!

Asked if MPs should vote to change the law when the majority of the North's MPs were against it, she said: "This is a matter decided by the British parliament.

"I think it is not unreasonable that the British parliament should say that all citizens in the British Isles should have the same rights.

    What will Iris Robinson think?

It's not going to happen. The deal that the DUP did with Brown over 42 day detention would definitly have included abortion.
We should be shaping an Ireland based on full respect for the human and civil rights of all our people, an Ireland of which Larkin and Connolly would be very proud.

You mean the DUP don't think think
that all citizens in the British Isles should have the same rights
I am shocked! Lucky for SF and SDLP that the DUP are holding the line to keep foreign interference in irish affairs in check.

Exactly. This is a way for Labour backbench rowdies to try to embarrass Brown by placing him in the position of shooting down abortion in the North, that's all.

    I'm pro-choice.....
But shooting down Brown's fascist plane on the way to deliver abortion to the North would be a victory for the will of the Irish people any way you look at it...

I wouldnt be so sure that this wont happen. After all, whether the DUP, UUP or SDLP like or not, it comes down to a commons vote, and many labour MPs are unhappy at the provision for the north. At the end of the day, the row going on at labours top will eventually lead to brown being showed up. And at the end of the day, should the commons have a vote and the motion for amendment be passed, theres not a thing brown can do about it.

Abortion will not become available in the six counties if the main parties are opposed to it. Regardless of what's decided in London, the introduction of abortion simply will not happen here for the foreseeable future.
