East Europeans welfare fraud forces dole changes

On a sampling of 2000 new claimants they found that 10% were claiming while not living in the country i.e. fraud. Also an earlier sampling of Children's Allowance found an 800% greater incidence of fraud among non-nationals - the fraud level among non-nationals was 13% compared to circa 1.5% among Irish nationals. I have no doubt that the 10% frauduantly claiming dole were predominantly East Europeans.

Whats a non-national? someone in limbo with no citizenship? if they have no nationalities how could they be eastern Europeans? (stealing our welfare...which no Irish man or woman would dare do)

    Universal makes a fair point.

You can imagine, people like us are working so hard to pay our tax while some are circumventing those tax in question but all we hear from the staff of department of social welfare is that, ''IT TOOK US TIME TO KNOW YOU'' and at the end of it they know nothing than desire while a lot of fraud been done on our tax.

That's why we are saying that, it wont be too long when you're right or wrong!!!

He just quoted figures to show that the incidence is far higher among non nationals than Irish people. As is the proportion of people in prison.

We owe a debt to kerrynorth for providing yet more evidence of how we are being ripped off. The Child Allowance scheme, in which Irish taxpayers pay for children in Latvia, Estonia etc who have never seen Ireland and probably never will is another disgraceful scam that Fianna Fail imposes on suffering Irish workers.

As to non-national, I agree that it is wrong to denude these people of their nationality. We should use the word "foreigner".

They just fly back and forward cheaply enough. Fly home, fly back for the next signing day. It would be worthwhile calculating the amount you could possibly amass with this simple deceit. Remember if you have a child under 5 you get an extra 1k on top of child benefits alone. No surprise Poland is having a baby boom.
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

Non-National means Non Irish National (The Irish being implied). It's meaning is perfectly clear to any intelligent person. They could also be refereed to as Foreigners or (to use a descriptive Americanism) Aliens.

There is no way one cent of Irish Taxpayers money should ever have been paid to non-resident (and in many cases non-existant) children of non-nationals - It is an absolute DISGRACE ! .
