Any system that does not have anti fraud measures in place will always be open to abuse no matter what country the person who commits the fraud is from.
In some dole offices now you only sign every 8 weeks.
You are never asked for ID when you sign
When you collect your dole every week you are not asked for photo ID
In my local paper this week man convicted of collecting €4000 dole for his brother who was in jail at the time.
The computer system in DSFA is over 30 years old.

There is no way one cent of Irish Taxpayers money should ever have been paid to non-resident (and in many cases non-existant) children of non-nationals - It is an absolute DISGRACE ! .

Heard last night that DSFA are examining records of people with foreign sounding surnames who failed to sign on during the volcanic ash period but still claimed to be living in the state.

I thought if you failed to sign on the dole got stopped?

Clearly it would seem that this rule dosent exist. And why stop with foreign nationals? Im willing to bet there is a good number of Irish who have left the country for work elsewhere that continue to sign on.
