You speak for the majority now ?

Would have thought "most" people would want a functional housing system where
    tenants arent getting gouged.

She added: “I’ve been 11 years on the housing list, they told me before I’ll be another four or five years waiting for a house.”
Margaret Cash, and her children Johnny (11), Tommy (10), Miley (7), Jim (4), Rocky (2), Andy (1) made headlines when the Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) charity posted photographs of the children sleeping on chairs in a waiting area with no bedding or blankets.
The solution she reached after not being able to afford to pay her own way and being on the housing list for 4 years then was to have 4 more children. But this is all definitely the govt of the day's fault. There's no personal angle here at all.

Rents in Dublin are now above what most people can afford while
    REITs make large profits.

LandLord Coveney said 2 years ago that there would be no homeless in
    emergency accommodation by June 1017.

So thats the benchmark fg set.
This is FG government policy so scumbags like Hammer can make massive profits as landlords and the rest fight over scraps.

In fairness to FG that's collateral damage - the real objective was to privatize the poor.

Obviously some FG strategist heard Mathew 26:11 "the poor will always be with you" and realized that the best strategy for FG's cronies was to harness the poor. FG have gone out of their way to create a new level of poverty and make sure that their cronies ploughed into REITs so they could stuff their houses full on the tax payers' dime.

The poor now include couples with 2 incomes but without parents to give them a deposit for a home.

I'm torn on this, to be honest.

Many of these kids were born since FG have been in government at a time when the country was borrowing money hand over fist. It was the perfect time to start managing for a more sustainable future in terms of social welfare and housing policies, but FG - the austerity government - failed to make any meaningful reforms to make this ladies additional kids not the tax payers problem, so NOT fixing bad policies is their problem.
