    Irish constitution and health care

What political party here would back the idea of a constitutional right to health care?something like:

The Right to Health and safety
    (1) The citizens right to health and safety is guaranteed.
    (2) The State shall provide a minimum health insurance, that is free.
    (3) Organic laws will establish the structure of the national health security system and the means necessary for protecting the individuals physical and mental health.

The Right to Live in a Healthy Environment

    (1) Every human being has the right to live in an environment that is ecologically safe for life and health to obtain healthy food products .
    (2) The State guarantees every citizen the right of free access to truthful information regarding the state of the natural environment and to safe working conditions and to safe quality food products .
    (3) Non-disclosure or falsification of information regarding factors detrimental to human health constitute offenses punishable by law.
    (4) Private individuals and legal entities shall be held responsible before the law for any damages they may cause to personal health and property due to an ecological offense.

Interesting if we had something like this in our constitution in light of the in the light of decline in water and ecoli etc:

SF's 2007 Manifesto included a commitment to update the Constitution to guarantee the right to Health Care. Not sure if that is still the party's position, given that empty rhetoric seemed to cost them a lot of votes.

I wouldn't support the addition of any of this stuff. Its all too value and much of it is already covered in EU and National Law.
The only way to change the world is to win elections.

I would be in favour provided it only applied to Irish/EU citizens. Otherwise it could be abused for reasons of health-tourism or to prolong ones illegal stay in our country.

This doesn't currently exist in law as a right for all. IMHO it damn well should do!

Could lead to lots of spurious helath and safety claims. The whole country covered in cotton wool. Hurling and booze banned. etc.
