You're vaunting that you're reporting her to the Department for Social Protection, on grounds that you have no evidence. That is an accusation that she has done something untoward, or has mislead/defrauded the above. Seems like libel to me.

No doubt there will be the usual outcry about this.....even though its all completely legit.
Because something is legitimate doesn't mean it's right - obviously.

You don't see anything wrong with average-wage workers putting in their slog to have their money handed over to a couple of multi-millionaires?

If you don't, fair enough. But it sure bothers me to see people who actually work for a living and who contribute something to society being taken for mugs and suckers by bums without a conscience.

We might get lucky and she will set up an account here.

So, is that a long way of going about saying you cannot produce any libelious statement that I am alleged to have made? Man up Riadach and admit it!

In any case you do not need evidence to send in a report to the DSP as your only reporting 'suspected' fraud. I will send in a report pointing out that there may well be no abuse in this case but pointing to the information in the Mail article which I will link that indicates that there is certainty something for them to investigate. It is up to the DSP to take it from there.

Nope. You've accused an identified person of wrongdoing by conceding that you have gone so far as reporting them to the DSP. Now had you done so quietly and without telling anyone that you had done so that would be fine.

Instead you have told us that you have done so. You have told us that she's breaking the law and actioned that by reporting it.

If she isn't breaking the law I'm very much afraid that you have committed libel on her.

Not yet- wait until she comes back from Morocco.
A big crowd of p.ie posters will welcome her back on Dublin airport- not to forget some journalists from the Indo and Daily Mail.
Enda Kenny might even be there....

I don't see it as targeting this woman as an idividual. "Magda" put herself in the firing line by giving an interview to a Polish newspaper with details which easily identify her. This has provoked a debate about social welfare payments in which Magda is used as an example.

The controversy is not about an individual, it is about the system. The point is, if this woman can live a very comfortable lifestyle on social welfare in Ireland without working, so can anyone else.

I think it was the Independent that put Magda in the firing line with it's sloppy journalism.
