This is a serious thread.
Some years ago I discovered slight discomfort whilst cycling.
I thought my underwear was a bit tight.
Whilst having a shower, I felt I had a lump on my right tecticle.
I did what most men would do in such a situation - I kept it to myself.
For a week I felt the force of gravity on my testicle.
Eventually I told the missus and she asked me how long I had the lump - I told her about a week and she freaked.
I was promptly marched of to the local urologist and was made drink loads of water for a urine sample and had to give blood for the examination of tumour markers.
Next up was the examination by the urologist.
First he examined them with his hand and then with the ultrasound device.
He verified that there was a growth on the testicle and advised me that there were two courses of action :
1) Do nothing - come back after a week and have a re-examination.
2) Go to hospital and temporarly remove the testicle through an incision in the groin and remove the growth and test if it is malignant or non-milignant.
(The testicle is a so called "stomach organ", therefore it is not removed from the scrotum, but from the "stomach" (in this case the groin).
Went to hospital and did even more tests and got an appointment for surgery.
Before surgery I had to sign a form that if the growth was malignant, that there would be a "semi castration" ie, the testicle would be removed.
If the growth was malignant, then the second testicle would be temporarly removed and tested.
If it was malignant, then it would also be removed.
The point I am making here is that it is very important to check your testicles regularly.
Maybe this link will help.
Testicular self-examination - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you discover a lump, go to a doctor immediately.
It is a very treatable disease if spotted early.
