You can smoke all you want lad, your death will mean little to those outside of your family and friends, but you're destroying the Health Care for countless others because of the expenses going on treating smokers with various kinds of cancers.

Nope wrong on this smokers pay for them selves and the health care of geriatric patients. The healthy people cost the state more over the long term in health care.

"giving them up" or "quitting" imply a sacrifice on the part of the individual. It takes 72 hours top to be finished with the physical addiction. The rest is mental conditioning.

If you are finding the taste of them less disireable than before, it means your probably sub-consciously rejecting them. The counter balance to that is that you're smoking more but since your getting less satisfaction from each one, it is the last sting of a dying wasp. Almost certainly, you won't be a smoker in 3 months time.

The government takes at least €5 of the price of every pack of cigarettes. If you are a 20 a day smoker, that money would be enough to pay for a full private health insurance policy. I also think taxes might even amount to more than tha

And the same logic should also be brought to the use of alcohol! Which has killed more people than smoking...Ban it I say!

How long before this little revelation sinks in?
Pensions and health care are crumbling because we live longer.
It's the consequences of better health policy.
When Bismark introduced the pension at age 65 in Germany it was about 4 years higher than the average life expectancy.
