Sex-change operations take priority over essential services. Has the HSE gone mad.

A report in today's Turbine reveals that the HSE continues to pay for procedures who's worth and long term effects are unverified while children lack basic services. Is this just? I think not. In fact it is rather bizarre.

How many people a year get a sex change operation? Probably about 2.

A clear attempt to victimise cosmopolitan, urban non-heterosexuals by a gombeen rural politician. I am sure there are many expenses he could have chosen to criticise (flights for government ministers?) that we are used to hearing about, but this is a nasty new departure from the Labour Party.

IMO, sex-change is a personal choice and the HSE should not pay for it.
Can we please have GE now?

Where does it say that the 22 people who had the surgery were either urban or 'cosmopolitan'?
What proof do you have that Colm Keaveney is a gombeen?

Of course it's a personal choice. It really affects a small small minority of people, literally a handful a year.

Or less than that. 2.2 a year if the article is correct.

63 K or even 30 K is alot of money. If people really want a sex-change we can send them to Iran. They will do sex-changer cheaper there and its no. 2 after Thailand.
