    More nanny state-ism
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

Those wanting to buy these products might be in a big queue to get their tablets behind all the "real" scrip purchasers. The pharmacist must speak to you if you want to buy these otc.

See paragraph 3 below. So it is not the lady or gent behind the counter selling beauty products who will do this.

So because less than 0.002% of our population have an addiction problem these Pills must be hidden from sight. This has worked so well in the past, look at how the whole country gave up cigarettes the day the ban on in shop advertising came in. SIGH.

Try buying them over the counter in France, or many other EU countries.
Imagine trying to start a normal working day without your spoonful of crushed Solphadine in your coffee and a few Neurofen to calm the nerves. And they say that France is a progressive society!!!

The title of this thread is incorrect. The ban on display of codeine products is going ahead from the 1st of August.

I get most medicines when I'm on holiday in Spain. They have a much more sensible O.T.C. policy and many restricted items are available without having to pay €60 for a G.P.'s prescription. Many products are up to 50% cheaper because the Government have a policy to deal with profiteering drug companies. There Chemist Shops are not nearly as nice as the Irish ones and they lack the 50k. makovers that are common here, still I'm prepaired to put up with the inconvenience.
