Evening Herald front page reporting that Mary Harney refuses to leave junket.

Mary Harney, according to the Evening Herald, has refused to come home from her 15 day junket in New Zealand to deal with the Tallaght X-Ray scandal. While this scandal unfolds she and her husband with three aides are enjoying the 5 star trip at the tax payers expense.

Surely the opposition should have suspended the pairing arrangement and called a vote of no confidence before the Dail adjourned.

Don't know what contribution she could make to addressing the issue - operational management rests with the HSE.

there now appears to be a situation whereby the HSE left a 16 year old boy in an internet cafe on Tuesday night because of lack of beds

It really does...... I do think she'll have questions to be answered - But pulling her home from New Zealand - would do feck all - except make people happy they got her off her junket

But surely the minister of the department should be here to at least be seen to do something to try and restore public confidence in the system.

Can the typo in the thread title please be fixed
Not sure this warrants a whole new thread for something we already know.

Nearly took them as long to film the Lord of the Rings trilogy in New Zealand as the length of time our health minister to visit is taking to visit it....
