A completely insufficient response to the information which was relayed to her by the incumbent CEO of Tallaght Hospital,Professor Kevin Conlon.
The new CEO - who had taken up his position the previous day - took clear responsibility for sorting out the problem. That's his job - what was she supposed to do? Does the chairman of a company keep looking over the shoulder of his CEO when that CEO has provided an assurance that a matter is being dealt with?

You've ignored my post about how Harney is happy to take credit for work carried out by the HSE, but once things go wrong, she falls back on the line you've trotted out - that it's all the responsibility of the HSE.

If he's an executive chairman, then he's fully entitled to.

To do what? What would a FG minister actually do in a similar situation?

I agree with you - she should not be taking credit for the work of the HSE.

Care to explain that? Oh, and while you're at it - what would a FG minister do - and I mean actually do

maybe the FF folks here could tell us what could Michael Noonan have done about the Hep C scandal. (If you don't remember Noonan was the guy that before teh 2002 election, RTE did a hatchet docu-drama job on over the Hep C scandal portraying him as a latter day Dracula while at the same time, they had Bertie Ahern doing footie analysis with Giles and Dunphy).

Has Brendan Drumm made any statement about this? Is he in hiding too?

Whether he took clear responsibility or not is a moot point.
It is beyond comprehension that a Minister for Health upon hearing of such a scenario did not seek to establish the facts around the information imparted.Did not consider public disclosure.Did not request any further detail from the HSE.Did not seek an appraisal from HIQA as to their involvement thus far.
Waiting until this came into the public domain via Fergal Bowers is not acceptable.
