Considering she is Minister for Health and is basically responsible for the health system a little political accountability and some explanations on this fiasco would be nice, but she has more pressing issues like celebrating St Patricks Day for 15 days in a five star hotel with her entourage. The arrogance is beyond belief and this from a politician whose party the PD's were meant to represent high standards in high places. There needs a revolution in this place, the elite are so out of touch its becoming scary.

The CEO is responsible for the day to day running of the health service, but, the HSE has obviously failed in its obligation in this instance. As a regulator we have HIQA which is responsible for providing quality, safety and accountability in the health services. They in turn are accountable to the minister for health and children. In this chain, she is at the top. All involved are answerable to her so to suggest that she should not be here to take charge in the aftermath of this scandalous debacle is absolutely ludicrous.

The self same HSE that announced that they are going to conduct an investigation into this fiasco.
I suppose they will be drawing up the terms of reference too.
