Regarding another of the ever increasing examples of "The Irish Public Service Malaise" (the more senior your position the less accountable you become for ongoing criminal indifference and/or incompetence), it's interesting to note in the case of The Malahide Viaduct Affair that "......a train driver and signal operator have been commended for their actions on the day, which prevented what could have been a 'catastrophic loss of life'. What's extremely depressing is the realisation that had Cowen and Harney been the train driver and signal operator there would indeed have been a 'catastrophic loss of life' arising from their congenital track record of lack of foresight, lack of vision, lack of initiative, lack of action, lack of care, lack of motivation - lack of everything except the shameless, primal need to hang on gorging at the trough.

They've taken it off. It was there half an hour ago. I'm not pulling your leg Baron.

They're probably going to cleanse it.

I think shes a goner myself and don't forget too its on her doorstep in that many of her constituents will have been impacted.
I know she is supposed to be standing down at the next election, so you have got to ask what is served by her staying on?
Not just the country but herself, if she resigns I'd hazard she'll resign the seat too.

anyway heres Mary when many people still had admiration for her.
