I'd say there is a good chance Mary will turn up here:

The Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival is recognized as one of Wairarapa’s unique, iconic events showcasing sensational wines and food from throughout the Wairarapa region. Seventeen of Wairarapa’s finest wineries and ten of its highest profile restaurants & food producers will showcase their wares set amongst ancient native trees in the Festival’s spectacular riverside setting in the popular wine growing area of Gladstone. Visitors to the Festival will have the opportunity to sample wines from not only the larger, better known wineries but also from some of the smaller boutique wineries in the region. In keeping with the informality of the event visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the wine makers from the vineyards involved giving them an insight into the wide variety & styles of wine available in the region. The restaurants on the other hand will focus on presenting some of the great local food and produce that the Wairarapa has to offer - Rabbit Pie, Cod & Crayfish Cakes, Venison Burgers and Wild Pork are just some of the delicacies that have featured on previous menus. There will also be an emphasis on entertainment with four live bands performing throughout the day.

Turns out she is allegedly doing some Health related reviews.

Minister for Health Mary Harney will attend a number of hospitals and talks on improving health service during her two week visit to New Zealand.

In Auckland she will attend a discussion at the Starship Children’s Hospital on the promotion of patient safety and assurance of quality through process improvements, IT use and medication safety.

The following week in Wellington she will meet with officials from the New Zealand department of health and attend a discussion on patient safety and quality performance management.

Why in New Zealand though? The WHO ranked New Zealand's health system 22 places below Ireland's in 2000. Has she gone to see how our Health system will operate when it has to survive on a smaller budget?

New Zealand embraced neo-liberalism with a lot of enthusiasm from the mid-80s onwards and didn't get rid of it until 2005. Harney probably wants to see what effect this poisonous crap had on the health service and use it as a benchmark.

Here is Health Minister Mary Harney happily waving to St Patrick's Day revellers in New Zealand while controversy rages at home over the Tallaght Hospital X-ray scandal.

She was attending the Auckland's St Patrick's Day parade as part of her two-week trip there.

I would be really annoyed if I went to that parade and she was the Irish representative.
