Has the Children's rights Referendum been long-fingered?

According to what the government are saying today in the Dail they are talking about April or September for the Referendum. Even Barnardos came out today saying they would get the Referendum right rather than rushed. It looks as if FF's mother and apple pie referendum will most likely not take place this side of the election, if at all. Maybe they fear the defence of honest mistake argument could gain traction and cost them the referendum which would end with them having egg on their faces!

argh wasn't the original 'childrens referendum' to do with the rights of the child vs parents vs state (nothing to do with rape) so it would be the same as the rest of the EU, this whole age of consent/defense thing was just a coincidence.... and an addon to that original referendum that was pressured upon the gov.
What does the Irish President spend their time doing. Work in progress
