It could be a stelath asylum seeker scam ala the GFA referendum.

If kids have speciific rights under the Constitution then it's going to be mighty hard to kick kids out whose parents applications have failed.

Thye could quite validly argue that their rights would be violated if they were deported to TW countries where services for children were a lot less.

Isn't the idea of it to enshrine the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into our constitution, we have got seriously rapped on the knuckles over this. We are a signatury, but haven't enshrined it in law, so we are still one of the very few countries left where it is legally OK to beat our children?
