Irish Times: [Euro]100,000 Houses in Liquidation Sale
THREE-BEDROOM houses go on sale this weekend at [euro]100,000 in a
Cavan development where a receiver has been appointed to dispose of 35
homes.
Ardkill Place near Ballinagh is a scheme of 65 three, four and five-
bedroom houses, with 30 units already sold. The remaining units are
now for sale at roughly half their original prices, according to
selling agents Gunne Reynolds.
Three-bedroom townhouses are priced at [euro]100,000; four- bedroom
semis will sell for [euro]130,000 while five-bedroom dormer- style
houses, which originally cost [euro]350,000, are now [euro]185,000.
This developer is being pressurised by ACC, not part of NAMA.Will NAMA do this?
NAMA is the latest FF subsidy to prop up our unsustainale building industry, first time buyer subsidy, tax breaks, affordable homes, homechoice loan scheme etc. etc.
What I find most stunning is how supine the GP is on the whole NAMA issue. Most ordinary GP members, if there are any left, probably are discusted with it and disengaged. Meanwhile, the elected (and parachuted) members are still giddy with power. Sad, almost.
Id love a GP member to come on and say why, stayign in government aside, its ok to support a policy that will transfer the equivalent of the full years tax take from the taxpayer to the pockets of private investors. Surely, somewhere, there must be a green with a voice and a conscience..
