Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” Napoléon Bonaparte

A demagogue is someone who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.
All the Greens will be kicked out at the next election exactly the same as the PDs for propping up a dangerous government, well, been generous we can thank Bertie for something.
The Country was ALREADY on the Rocks, due to the way that FF, FG and Labour Councillors up and down the Country granted idiotic rezonings, willy nilly, in every parish in the Country.
The Greens sustainable economics, and their focus on getting us off of imported energy sources, are the only thing that will get us OUT of recession.

Probably. That was the experience in Australia and Germany.
Therefore we should stay in Government to the very end, and get as many changes implemented as possible. It could be five years before we get back in Government again, so we need to make the most of the opportunity we are presented with.

It wasn't actually on the rocks in June 2007 - it was heading there but there was still a chance to avoid a crash. The Greens did nothing. Nothing at all.
It will be a happy day when you are consigned to the dustbin of history with the PDs.
The Greens can't even do the most importantly symbolic acts of all such as scrapping all oireachtas pensions and expenses and allowances and make TDs accountable. IF they even did one thing - to reform the Dáil and make oireachtas members' actions relevant and accountable and transparent - then they might have done the state some service.
As it is, they haven't even done that and the one thing Gormless seems to be proud of he had to backtrack on - the lightbulbs.

Oh yea the Greens did a lot of railing, Tara, Shannon, incinerators... But when they got behind the railings at government buildings their railing turned to wailing - Whaaa Dick Roche did it. Sob sob there's no rendition. Boo hoo we can't change the contracts.
You'd find more backbone in a jellyfish than a Green TD.
Thank you for that input which many will heartily agree with.
The reality is that corruption in Ireland has been sanitised and legitimised.
No too many cash in envelopes now as all the excesses and taking out hidden profit is now legal and even Beverly Cooper Flynn has been welcomed back into to the Dail Committee system thanks to Gormley and Ahern.
