Gormley solo run first sign of FF/Green rift

I had a quick read of the Sunday Trib this morning, Shane Coleman is reporting that Gormley didn't have cabinet approval to scrap e-voting and it was essentially a 'solo run', describes it as a 'rift' between FF and the Greens

Good for Gormley. Thats the only way to do it. I dare any FFer to raise their ugly head and criticize his decision - without having Prime Time investigating their links to the owners of the storage depots

I'm sure FF also needed some Green arm-twisting to agree to the by-election dates.....

He should have done a few solo runs a long time ago.

If this is true he deserves the credit for the decision.

Indeed. Well done (at last!), if true.

edit: I wonder was releasing the Lowry Memo another example?

hey gullibles - how convenient reports of a rift just as the election campaign starts.
Even if he confronted Cowan at a lamppost near you I wouldnt believe a single word of it.

Can electoral reform be far behind?
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

Endinf the one Party (FF) state:

I have now read the full article, it is a bit of a non-story, but is says a lot about differing management styles.

The cabinet agreed to get rid of them. FF ministers wanted to refer it to an oireachtas committee to kill it off after the elections. Gormley just made the announcement and it is dead. FF could learn something from him- accountability, leadership and the point of being in government.
