Wind will never be more than a single digit contributer to the energy market(never mind the fact that it kills 5 people per thousand megwatt years), wave genoraters get destroyed by the first decent storm(putting them in the North atlantic genius!) but with biomass he could prove himself not a brazen liar(which he is).

Ireland is not short of bullsh1t.

The answer to our energy problems is coal and nuclear. Plenty of coal left.

Does anyone know if it is even technically possible to be energy independent through renewables?

Any party that put forward such a proposal with credible evidence it would work would get my vote no questions asked until they got it done. It would be one of the greatest achievements in the state's history.

Personally, I am dubious it is even possible, but definitely all ears if it is.
